I met Rosy and Mirko at CERES in Brunswick. We have been friends for many years and I love them dearly. I was so excited to be asked to photograph their growing family and now that we live miles from each other, it became another good reason to catch up. After big hugs and a coffee, we meander to a quiet area within the park. I understand that often it is the mother who instigates family photos, so often Dad is not too keen. My approach to family photography is about capturing unique relationships between each child and their parents. I take a relaxed approach to all my lifestyle photography sessions. This takes the pressure off not only the parents, but also the children, and in result I am able to capture more authentic, happy images, that remind my families of the fun they all have together. Photography seasons usually go for 90 minutes. This allows breaks and for me to get to know the children and get a feel of the family dynamics. It is really sweet watching kids enjoy having their parents attention all to themselves, for this short time, which is sometimes not always easy in this busy world we live in.
Capturing these beautiful fleeting moments will be treasures that last a lifetime.
