I have photographed a few weddings around Geelong and it is always such a delight to arrive at some of the most picturesque locations I could have ever imagined. And to add to the beauty of South Coast Weddings, is Summer time, these weddings are amazing. The sun is up until 8pm, which creates beautiful golden light, that is a dream to photograph in.
Emily and Dan had originally planned on getting married at Penny Royal in the Otways, before changing the location to their very own property that they had just recently purchased in Colac. I am so happy for them, that not only do they get to start their lives off together in their very own house but the property was a perfect location for their wedding. Big old barns, fields of grass and a beautiful view as far as the eye can see acting as the backdrop for their wedding ceremony. I felt like I was in a country wedding magazine - simply stunning. The bride and groom had put in a lot of the work themselves. They organised a bus for guests to arrive and depart in, a little buggy, driven by 10 year old nephew, helped guests down to the ceremony location (their property is that big) and all the pretty decor to cheer the barns up was simply perfect.
They both chose to go non traditional when it came to wedding attire, Dan with his braces and Emily looking stunning in her dress by Nevenka Emily was surrounded by her best friends and sister as she made her way down the isle in...wait for it, horse and cart - how awesome! To meet her soon to be husband for their beautiful ceremony in the summer sunshine. Helping to capture the day was videographer Andy from Roseneath Creative.
Surrounded by so many friends and family, it is easy to see they are loved and cherished, and I have no doubt these two lovers will enjoy a lifetime of fabulous adventures.
Congratulations Emily and Dan. Emily
