A beautiful Ballarat winter wedding at Mitchell Harris Winery x
David and Tess wanted an intimate wedding, with just their close friends and family. They wanted to somewhat ditch the notion of ‘tradition’ and allow themselves the freedom to enjoy their wedding their unique way. This included, getting ready at the same venue (their own home), wearing pink and not white (amazing as you can see), walking down the isle with her besties, no first dance, nor speeches beyond a heartfelt thank you from them both. They just wanted to enjoy the night, talking, drinking, eating and dancing with those who they loved most (my kind of party). They chose Mitchell Harris not only because it is in their gorgeous hometown of Ballarat, but because it offered a unique event space. The venue which is a busy hip wine bar and open to the public, leads into a quiet private cellar, where Tess and David held both their ceremony and reception. I should mention here that the ceremony was beautifully performed by Tamsin Whaley (highly reccommend) Amazing!
What resonated with me most, was David and Tess’s request “to photograph all our people, because that is what is most important to us”. I loved this, because for me weddings are not just all about pretty pictures (however give me a golden sunset and 15 minutes of your time) but it’s about the people that are there, sharing in this very special day with you. These moments are what matter. Thank you David and Tess for having me as your wedding photographer. I wish you all the very best for next adventure.
